Kings Community Action Organization was part of the president's declaration of "War on Poverty". KCAO is one of the thousands of agencies established in communities across the country. It is a locally controlled private nonprofit corporation governed by a tripartite board of directors.

The mission of KCAO has been to identify the causes of poverty in Kings County and to develop strategies to alleviate them.

Entering its 37th year of community service, KCAO continues to face new challenges. With renewed commitment, KCAO will continue to provide essential services to low-income residents of Kings County.
